Once the track was finally screwed into place it was then we had to add the scenery. BALLAST! I hear you cry! No honestly we wanted our railway to look as realistic as 'Playmobil' will allow and still making it 'playable' We used decorative gravel from 'Selco' to place around the track. Where the goods yard and engine shed would be placed we made out of hypertufy which is a fantastic mix of perlite, cement and peat. This mix sets like stone but enables moss to grow through. Experiment with various mixes but if you want it not to crack, mix a bit of PVA glue in too. Sand is good instead of perlite.
