Work began back in March/April 2013 where I laid out the track according to the plans that my son and I drew up. This was to acertain whether the track would fit without ripping up too much of our garden! I then went to a wood re-cycling yard and got five sheets of 8x4 9mm weather treated plywood, this cost £25 with delivery! Sections of track were laid out on the plywood and drawn around with a marker pen, I then cut the sections out and laid them on the area which by now had been weeded and weed membrane laid down. Wooden blocks supported the plywood to achieve the correct levels.
The track meandered around the back of the 'Pontytufy' Mountain and waterfalls, to stop any damage to the trains and to minimise distruption of the service I made the 'Pontytufy' Tunnel which is made from foamboard cut to fit and wrapped in MODROC painted with 'Hammerite' Stone finish (Other paints are available!)
